Romantic White Roses Decorate an Engagement at the Lewis-Atkinson Home
Johnny Williams proposed to Olivia Neal in her hometown of Rosewood, North Carolina. He chose to get down on one knee at The Cornealius Properties, the wedding and event venue owned and operated by Olivia’s family. This was a very sentimental spot for the couple, since they’d been working with Olivia’s family to help restore the Lewis-Atkinson Home, a new addition to Cornealius, throughout the summer of 2023. Olivia was shocked by the proposal, since she thought she was returning to the property that afternoon for a family photoshoot.

How The Adventurous Love Story Began …
In spring of 2022, Johnny and Olivia each set out to begin a hike on the Appalachian Trail, which stretches from Georgia to Maine. Little did they know that this long hike was going to be more than just a fun adventure. The couple met several times while on the trail and began hiking together as friends in May of 2022. As they continued hiking toward Maine, they spent more time together and their feelings shifted and emotions drew stronger. When Johnny and Olivia completed their thru-hike in October, the pair decided that they wanted to continue life as a couple. They moved to Georgia together and opened Hidden Pond Hostel, a place for Appalachian Trail hikers to spend the night, in the mountains of northern Georgia. The couple also created a line of hiker clothing and gear called Appalachian Threadz. After walking hundreds of miles together, there’s no doubt that Johnny and Olivia had begun their trek as strangers but completed it as lovers.

Meghan Morales captured this special engagement through a photo session. Johnny worked with Olivia’s sister, Brooke Neal, to plan the surprise engagement and Brooke and other members of Olivia’s family hid behind trees surrounding the home while Johnny proposed. The couple celebrated their engagement surrounded by loved ones sharing laughs and excitement all around. They gathered together to continue the fun with some desserts and finger food.

Lewis-Atkinson Home: A New Addition to The Cornelius Properties
The Lewis-Atkinson Home is the newest addition to the venue options at The Cornealius Properties. The historic two-story home built in 1820 was restored in the 1970s by previous owners Marshalle Lewis and Judy Lewis. Nestled in the picturesque countryside and farmland of Goldsboro, North Carolina, this remarkable location presents an airy, elegant backdrop for wedding events. The Lewis-Atkinson Home is expected to be completed in late 2023 and available for 2024 bookings. The house will soon be paired with a new reception hall that’s under construction nearby!

Congratulations to this beautiful couple on their engagement. Olivia and Johnny tied the knot on October 28, 2023! Stay tuned for more updates and new additions to The Cornealius Properties.
