The House at Gatewood is a full-time event venue in Hillsborough, NC. A true hidden gem, this unique property offers multiple locations for weddings across 16 acres. The House at Gatewood features four separate dining rooms where large parties can be accommodated easily.

Aside from the location, the thing that is special about this venue is the food. Enjoy a seasonal, handcrafted menu created specifically for your wedding by celebrated chef and owner Ron Spada. The Spada family lovingly renovated this historic property. Moreover, they thoughtfully preserved the estate’s character and charm to give guests a “new-stalgic” venue to celebrate with loved ones. Dedicated event spaces and dining options

In total, there’s room for formal seating for 110 inside and an additional 100 can be seated on outdoor patio spaces. The Magnolia Room hosts up to 12 people for an intimate event and includes a sound system. Close the antique wooden doors for a private, cozy experience with close friends and family.

Fireplaces and luxurious banquet seating line the Speakeasy, a dining space for up to 35 people.

The House at Gatewood’s bar area can accommodate up to 50 people, and offers access to the “party room,” two outdoor patio spaces as well as an indoor patio.

For out-of-town guests, The House at Gatewood helps coordinate nearby lodging. Their partners include the Arrowhead Bed and Breakfast, and The Colonial Inn. Other local vendor partners include Julia Bakes Sweets and Flower Patch in Hillsborough.

Chef Ron Spada

Owner and executive chef Ron Spada creates Southern favorites – think barbecue, comfort food and delectable desserts – with a twist. Ron has chased his dream of becoming a chef since his teenage years and graduated from Johnson & Wales with a degree in culinary arts before working at various restaurants and event venues in New York City. Now, Ron works with couples to create seasonal, unique food and beverage menus tailored to your event and preferences.
