An Ode to Inclusivity – Changing our Name

We used to be named Southern Bride & Groom. In 2020, we relaunched with a new name, Heart of NC Weddings. Each and every vendor who is part of our NC wedding planning website was made aware that, in a large part, this name change was to make it clear that we are inclusive of LGBTQ+ couples. That means that each of our vendors is a supporter of our mission to represent all weddings in our community.

In addition, we have highlighted several local, Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill based same-sex weddings on our blog and will continue to strive to be inclusive on our site and in our magazine.
