It’s no surprise that couples like Jamie and Marc find themselves drawn to The Sutherland as their wedding venue. The Sutherland was originally a family estate in the 18th century. With its rich history and modern upgrades, it has become one of the most sought after locations for brides and grooms.
The property is situated in a beautiful garden setting, surrounded by large oak, magnolias and pine trees on all sides. The Sutherland has countless picturesque spots for wedding ceremonies and receptions that it would be next to impossible to not find at least one spot you love. Whether you’d like an outdoor garden wedding in their lawn, a rustic ceremony with a forest backdrop, or a modern ceremony inside their brand new pavilion, The Sutherland has it all!
Jamie shared, “From the moment we walked into the historic southern style home, there was just so much class and was very romantic. The grounds were so beautiful and we loved that both the walled garden and the pavilion were available for both the ceremony and reception!”
Bright Orange Wedding Florals by Durham Florist, Tre Bella
Jamie chose to go with a bright orange floral theme to add a pop to the gray in their wedding colors. Tre Bella Florist rose to the occasion and created some of the most eye catching bridal party florals, as well as arrangements for the reception. Tre Bella is a Southern Bride and Groom Preferred Florist out of Durham, NC that serves the entire area of Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and beyond. Tre Bella always aims to impress with their strikingly beautiful arrangements and Jamie and Marc’s orange floral decor was no exception.
Indoor Classic Ceremony in the Pavilion at The Sutherland
As we mentioned earlier, The Sutherland has so many areas to host your various wedding events at and each one feels more unique and beautiful than the last. Jamie and Marc chose to hold their wedding reception indoors at the pavilion. With sky high ceilings, exposed wooden beams, glass doors on 3 sides that can open the space up on warmer days, and unbeatable views, the pavilion at The Sutherland is the perfect wedding reception location for any couple.
Jamie and Marc, with the help of Themeworks and Tre Bella Florist, created a simply romantic space to celebrate their wedding reception with their closest family and friends.
