A Luxury Wedding Lounge with a Feminine Purple and Pink Floral Ring by Raleigh Florist Petal and Oak

For the Southern Bride & Groom 2019 floral and tabletop editorial shoot, Raleigh florist Petal and Oak designed a luxury wedding lounge. It would be an understatement to call this design over the top. The centerpiece is a magnificent floral ring backdrop in vibrant colors of pink and purple. This is matched with a mesmerizing floral table runner in a rainbow of purple, pink and blue flowers spilling from table to floor. And as with any fairytale fantasy, glitzy gold accents abound throughout the vignette. They drip from the floral ring and in the furniture pieces.

The coolest part about this design? It was all created by Petal and Oak, a company in Raleigh that does both wedding flowers and specialty rentals. All of the furniture, lighting and flowers you’ll see in this scene are by this awesome company. It was shot on location at The Cookery, a warehouse wedding venue in Durham NC, and photos are by Katherine Miles Jones. Local Raleigh fitness blogger Claire Guentz and her husband Stephen also make an appearance in this shoot, with amazing fashion looks. All in all, this is one of the most glamorous wedding inspiration pieces in the 2019 edition of our NC wedding magazine.

Floral rings have become a popular backdrop for many parts of the wedding day. They are seen as the ceremony altar, the cake display, or sweetheart table. We love how Petal and Oak incorporated this colorful pink and purple floral ring into a luxury wedding lounge. Modern gold chandeliers ground its place in the scene. The entire display pops off of the exposed brick walls of The Cookery in Durham.

This masterpiece is matched with a hand-crafted floral table runner. Deep shades of royal purple and vibrant pink are paired with pops of blue and white hydrangeas. This floral blanket could be used for a dinner table runner, or a spectacular piece on a welcome table. Our bride and groom are Stephen and Claire Guentz – a real couple. Claire is a Raleigh NC fitness blogger, and also has a podcast with her Stephen – The Husband and Wife Podcast.

The bride looks radiant in a lace overlay wedding dress by Ines Di Santo. The gown is from Alexia’s, the only local bridal salon that carries this couture designer, who is popular for super romantic, modern styles. Claire was styled by Bella Trio, a Durham hair salon that offers on and offsite hair and makeup services for weddings. Her jewelry is from Bailey’s Fine Jewelry of Raleigh.

The groom wears a fitted navy suit and Burgundy tie that matches the deeper purples of the floral design. It is from Bernard’s, the go-to formalwear shop in Durham. Bernard’s offers tux and suit rentals, and even for purchase, as well as a team of experts who can assist with selection.

The high fashion looks that Stephen and Claire Guentz model are a perfect match for the luxury purple, pink and gold wedding flower design by Petal and Oak. They cozy up on a velvet blush sofa, and gold chandeliers dangle from the floral ring behind them, setting a soft glow.
