Meet the New Nesters – Raleigh NC Power Couple, Nick and Gretta Nance
Gretta and Nick Nance eloped last October at Jekyll Island in Georgia. After they exchanged vows, they shared their first meal together as husband and wife – a picnic just for the two of them on Driftwood Beach. Gretta and Nick’s wedding picnic is the perfect example of that intimate connection that comes from the sharing of a meal.
Back in Raleigh, we visited this couple just a few weeks after they were married. Their new home was designed by Nick, who worked with Southern Elegance Custom Homes. The house was built with lots of gathering space in mind. This newlywed Raleigh couple had more than just the two of them to think about – together they have four children as well.
“We are totes the Brady Bunch,” says Gretta.
Despite both being busy professionals, Gretta and Nick make a priority to have their own weekly in-home date night. They also have a full family dinner twice a week. Both the breakfast and dining table can fit all six family members, so they never have to sit separately to eat.
Home Accents makes great everyday china for the newlywed home. It is carried by Belk Bridal Registry, in Raleigh and Durham. We love the combination of pastel teal and cream in Gretta and Nick’s breakfast nook!
In-Home Lifestyle Shoot is Perfect for Engagement Photos or Newlywed Portraits
We had so much fun visiting the home of Nick and Gretta Nance. We wanted to capture some moments between the newlywed couple in the areas where they like to relax. They did build the home with several space for just that. So we treated the shoot like a lifestyle engagement shoot. We LOVE the idea of an in-home lifestyle shoot for engagement photos, or newlywed portraits. Keep these amazing shots in mind when planning your own engagement shoot, or Christmas card photos!
Raleigh wedding photographer Alaina Ronquillo Photography was perfect for this task. With her fine art photography style, she shows off the natural light that was built into this home. Gretta Nance was styled by Silverceiling Beauty Consulting, one of our recommended vendors who does wedding hair and makeup from a Raleigh studio, as well as on site at the location preferred by the bride. Silverceiling also has Wilmington and Asheville locations.
Above, we share some ideas of how to mix and match your fine china. Using some of the most gorgeous patterns available at Bailey’s Fine Jewelry, along with some classic gold charger looks, you can add lots of flair to a classic dining area. Bailey’s is located at Cameron Village and Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh. They also have Greenville and Rocky Mount, NC locations.
Kate Spade still has very popular patterns for the classic Southern newlywed home. We especially love the Chapel Hill pattern, with a subtle white lace. Kate Spade dishware is available at Belk bridal registry in Raleigh and Durham.
Congrats to Gretta and Nick Nance on their happy new home!
