From High School “Promposal” to College Marriage Proposal

The “promposal” is one of America’s latest trends on the high school scene. Students go to extravagant ends to come up with the most creative ways to ask their date to prom. Alexis and Andrew’s love story began right before Junior year high school prom. In high school, Andrew might not have planned an over the top promposal. But six years later, he planned a very special marriage proposal. After years of long distance dating between Charleston and Raleigh, Andrew invited Alexis and her family down to Charleston for the weekend. That weekend Andrew popped the question. Alexis didn’t hesitate to say yes. Of her surprise Charleston marriage proposal, Alexis said, “There isn’t anything more exciting than getting engaged to the love of your life and then getting to celebrate right away with your family.”

When it came to selecting a North Carolina wedding venue, Alexis said Rose Hill in Nashville, North Carolina was the perfect match for two specific reasons. First of all, Rose Hill wedding venue is beautiful and secluded. Rose Hill is a historic plantation with rolling hills and stunning southern architecture. This unique wedding venue offers the perfect countryside backdrop. It allows a wedding to be free from the noise and bustle of the Triangle. Second of all, Rose Hill is incredibly flexible with their wedding clients. Alexis and Andrew were allowed to make all of the decisions when it came to orchestrating their wedding day at Rose Hill.

Fairytale Wedding Ceremony on the Front Steps of Rose Hill Estate

Leave it to Chad Biggs to design and plan one of the most romantic wedding ceremony stages on the front door steps of Rose Hill. The brick sidewalk leading up to the front doors of Rose Hill Estate spilled over with white and blush flower petals. Wedding guests took their seats on either side of a sidewalk lined with gorgeous green and white bouquets. Alexis and Andrew held each other tightly as they promised to love and care for one another for the rest of their lives. The historic southern architecture of Rose Hill framed the bride and groom with symmetrical white columns and black shutters. 

Marvelous Rose Hill Wedding Reception

“Wow,” must’ve been the first word on the lips of guests as they walked into Alexis and Andrew’s Rose Hill wedding reception. Chad Biggs placed the head table at the center of the ballroom to showcase the stunning floral arrangements of blush, white, and green. The tables were decorated with cream gold linens, blush napkins, and crystal and gold dishware from CE Rental. Magnificent chandeliers dripped from the ceiling in summer greenery and crystals.   

Bride Alexis describes the feeling of seeing all of the planning and detailed decisions come together on her wedding day. She said, “the most incredible and dreamy moment of the night was looking around while in the middle of the dance floor, to see all of our friends and family smiling and dancing and to take in all of the beauty that our amazing vendors made happen. To know that these individuals went through so much work to make this day perfect for you is a surreal feeling and we can never thank our vendors enough for all of their hard work, I’ve never seen anything so stunning.”

Today, Alexis and Andrew live in the land of the pines, Raleigh, North Carolina. Their summer wedding day at Rose Hill is a day they will never forget. The newlyweds are thankful for everyone who made their dreams come true.
