Sam McLawhon and Martin Jernigan’s love story is living proof of the popular saying, “You meet someone when you aren’t looking.” Sam was out having dinner with a girl friend when they ran into Martin and his friends. There was zero hesitation when Martin met Sam and asked for her phone number. They’ve been inseparable ever since their first date! Martin got the best gift of all that time when Sam said “yes” to his proposal on his own birthday! We won’t go into detail over the homemade almond flavor cupcakes he spit out moments before… The two said ‘I do’ at Sam’s childhood church, White Memorial Presbyterian Church.

Traine Raleigh wedding venue looked tailor made for Sam & Martin’s navy and white reception. Built in the early 1900’s as the original Railway Express in Raleigh, Traine has an authentic Southern story and ambiance. White drapery and bistro lights hanging from Traine’s wood timber beams gave the reception a romantic air. With a 4,400 square ft open floor plan, Traine Raleigh is a blank canvas warehouse venue for every style. 

Sam and Martin’s wedding style took center stage with classic navy and white linens from Party Reflections. Chargers covered in blue and white chinoiserie fulfilled bride Sam’s Southern girl dreams! She would tell all NC brides to go to Party Reflections,

Sam and Martin’s Southern style wedding at Traine Raleigh had North Carolina details that made it feel like home. We love their koozie wedding favors that read ‘NC Born, NC Bred, and on Sept. 7th, 2019, they were NC Wed’. The newlyweds currently live in the North Hills area of Raleigh.
