Classic is the New Modern

A Classic White Wedding in Chapel Hill Planned by Folie à Deux Events

Claudia and Andrew are New York City natives who relocated to Wake Forest, North Carolina, where they planned the classic white wedding of their dreams with the help of another NYC transplant; Erica Greenwold Reisen of Folie à Deux Events. The couple had a very clear idea of what they wanted their wedding to look like, and the Chapel Hill-based event planners and floral design studio at Folie à Deux was able to help them refine their style in order to elevate their special day.

Folie à Deux specializes in wedding planning, coordination and elegant floral design, working with their clients to capture their personal aesthetic and ensure they get the wedding of their dreams. For Claudia and Andrew, who had been forced to postpone and reschedule their wedding due to the pandemic, tying the knot at St. Thomas More Catholic Church and celebrating with a vintage-inspired garden party in the courtyard of The Parlour at Manns Chapel was a dream come true.

The Perfect White Wedding Venue

The couple shared their vows in Chapel Hill at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on May 8, 2021. Afterward, they hosted an intimate garden party reception filled with family traditions at The Parlour at Manns Chapel in Chapel Hill.

The Parlour is a curated chapel and space that is perfect for small, intimate events and weddings. It is a place that brings people together while surrounded by beautifully stylized, classic decor. With both outdoor and indoor spaces available, The Parlour has something for everyone, and Claudia and Andrew loved finishing out their big day there.

Refining and Capturing the Classic White Wedding Style

Claudia and Andrew gave Erica creative freedom when planning and designing their big day. They asked for a classic white wedding, and Erica went above and beyond to match this aesthetic while playing up the vintage details and design of The Parlour. Erica achieved the look of a summery garden party in the courtyard by mixing in floral accents along the way to create a style that was both modern and classic.

The wedding was photographed by Apsari at Java Rose Photography. The couple says she was incredible to work with. Her positivity, humor and artistic vision were just some of the reasons they knew she was the right photographer for them. They trusted her completely to work her photography magic to capture their wedding day!

Courtyard Garden Party Catered by Beau Catering

Beau Catering kept guests well-fed, and worked alongside the couple and Folie à Deux Events to make their amazing day special, seamless and savory. “The Beau Catering team was extremely kind, creative and delightful to work with,” the couple says. “Beau’s food was wonderful and matched only by his joyful personality and gift for storytelling.” Another unique touch was a pisco sour as their featured cocktail – a tasty nod to Claudia’s Peruvian heritage and a special request from her father.

Beau Catering is a North Carolina-based catering service that aims to use local and fresh ingredients for the best quality meals. The Beau Catering team works closely with clients to curate menus that are unique for each occasion.

After enjoying the intimate outdoor dinner, Claudia, Andrew and their guests hit the dance floor. The couple loved working with DJ Ryan the DJ to curate the perfect reception playlist.
