Black-and-White Wedding at Board & Batten | Barn Venue in Lexington, North Carolina

Shannon and Spencer were introduced to each other through a mutual friend of Spencer’s brother. After their initial meeting in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and despite Spencer mistakenly calling Shannon “Sharon” at their first encounter, their connection was undeniable. “In that moment I thought ‘see ya later,’ but, little did we know, that story would end up being a favorite of ours to tell,” Shannon says. She later reconnected with Spencer, and the pair dated for four years before they planned a classic black-and-white wedding at Board & Batten on April 2, 2022. Shannon’s uncle, Trey Burns, officiated the event.

When it came to planning the wedding, the couple had a clear vision in mind. They wanted an elegant and fresh atmosphere with a classic black-and-white color palette that would stand the test of time. Shannon and Spencer deliberately avoided accent colors, as they wanted to create a forever classic aesthetic. To add a touch of nature’s beauty, they incorporated hints of greenery throughout the decor. The result was a stunning event that perfectly reflected their personal style and created an unforgettable experience.
