Heights House Hotel

In 2021, a local couple completed the restoration of the historic Italianate mansion once known as Montfort Hall. Now named after its neighborhood, the Heights House Hotel is a nine-room, luxury boutique hotel. But more importantly, it is one of the best wedding venues in downtown Raleigh. Consider this magnificent indoor and outdoor venue for small to medium sized private events up to 149 guests. 

The visionaries behind the Heights House Hotel are husband and wife team, Sarah and Jeff Shepherd. Their goal is for this property to become an anchor in the local community. Book Heights House Hotel for a wedding that is truly elevated. Doubt us? Take a tour of the property and you’ll see what we mean. Upon entry, you’ll find the former home’s most notable feature has been restored. This signature piece is a gorgeous rotunda which leads up to a stained-glass skylight. Other features include arched doorways, skylights fire places and a large lawn. Additionally, you’ll admire refinished wood from the 1800s, repurposed throughout the house. 

Weddings at Heights House

For weddings of up to 149 guests, couples rent out the entire property for the full Friday-Sunday weekend (including all nine hotel rooms, European Continental breakfast for overnight guests and all the standard hotel amenities). This makes the place feel like your own for your celebratory weekend. Invite your closest family and friends to stay onsite, and book other room blocks in downtown Raleigh. Exchange your vows on the front steps of the property with the beautiful front view of the house as your backdrop.

Choose your preference for cocktail hour – inside the estate or on the lawn. Then, host a tented reception dinner under grand magnolia trees. The reception celebration continues inside with dancing, lounging and drinks in the common spaces.

Downtown Raleigh Honeymoon Suite

Also noteworthy, the property has two spacious getting ready areas. The first is the downstairs Lower Lounge, perfectly equipped for a groomsmen hangout. The second is the Historic Luxury Honeymoon Suite, which is the perfect space for a bridal group plus their hair and makeup teams. While you’re getting ready, have your photographer snap those picturesque robe shots by one of the two fireplaces, clawfoot soaking tub, double vanity and large sitting area.

Wedding Preparation Packages

For couples who are getting married elsewhere, Heights House offers a special in-room package to ensure you have an exceptional start to your wedding day. Following booking a two-night stay in either of the two largest rooms at the hotel, email the events team to inquire about this special packages. Included are: a dedicated event staff member for you and your party to assist with questions, up to 10 additional guests in the room plus a photographer/hair/makeup teams, croissants and fruit, two bottles of Champagne/orange juice/a carafe of coffee and accessibility to shoot your wedding party photos in the common spaces.
