Built in 1934 and renovated in 2017, the barn is a luxury wedding venue in North Raleigh unmatched in its scale and charm. The Historic Wakefield Barn is a National Historic Site that sits on 14 acres – the property includes a bridal suite, horse barn, the main barn and outdoor event spaces. The venue combines the barn’s storied past with subtle modern touches that result in a unique event space. The property is still an active equine farm, with three horses who live on-site named Mandatory, Jackson and The Ambassador!

The primary barn is divided into two spaces: a first-floor cocktail area that was created in the space that originally housed 28 horse stalls. This area still retains the original doors, ceiling and stall numbers – these gorgeous details add a sense of the barn’s history and provide vintage charm. Upstairs, the great hall offers 6,200 square feet of event space that has 32-foot ceilings adorned with 12 chandeliers.
