ACE + Company Planned this April Winston-Salem Wedding

Sarah Sullivan met James Ryan in 2015 when her cousin brought him as a guest to their family beach house during Fourth of July weekend. Two weeks later they went on their first date. After five years together, Sarah says, she started dropping hints that she was ready to get married by sending James pictures of rings or stopping into jewelry stores every now and then. Knowing that Sarah didn’t want a public proposal, James popped the question while they were at home, with the ring the two had designed together and only their dogs as witnesses.
ACE + Company: Expert North Carolina Wedding Planners
Having recently relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina, Sarah says she was at a loss with planning her Winston-Salem wedding before meeting Amanda Caputo of ACE + Company. The two hopped on a video call, and Sarah says she knew Amanda was a “perfect fit” straight away. Amanda was able to recommend stellar Winston-Salem NC vendors and guide Sarah and James through the process leading up to the big day on April 30, 2022.

“I cannot say enough good things about ACE + Company and Amanda. They were always there to help and answer my million questions.” Sarah says. “The day was a whole lot less stressful thanks to them!”
An April Winston-Salem Wedding with Garden Themes
James and Sarah wanted to find a “blank slate” venue that could host both their ceremony and reception. The Barn at Reynolda Village in Winston-Salem NC was the backdrop to the simple, intimate affair they wanted. The couple decorated in muted sage and added shades of light pink to pop against the fully white venue. Party Reflections, a vendor Sarah says was easy to work with, supplied tabletop and equipment rentals. Green Bee Floral Designs helped Sarah’s vision for garden-inspired floral arrangements come to life. Flowers decorated the Barn at Reynolda Village in addition to the outdoor garden ceremony site. Each guest got to take home a mini floral arrangement which functioned as escort cards.

Sarah says the morning of her big day went smoothly in part due to her hair and makeup artists, Aly and Kaitlyn from Kaitlyn Elizabeth Styling. “They are so easy-going!” says Sarah.
Throughout the day and into the evening, Dawn Walsh of Dawn Marie Photography captured every special moment.
“She made James and myself feel so comfortable and we can not stop laughing when we are around her,” Sarah says. “Our photos turned out amazing and we had even a better time taking them because of her.”

Holly Tate Fine Catering helped Sarah and James incorporate some personal touches by serving up the couple’s favorite foods, like soft pretzels and pulled pork. Speciality bourbon and margarita cocktails, based on Sarah and James’ favorite drinks, were served to guests. To incorporate a big part of their lives into their special day, each cocktail featured a custom drink stirrer with Sarah and James’ dogs.

Barn at Reynolda Reception After the “I Do”
Sarah and James agree that their reception at Winston-Salem’s Barn at Reynolda Village was “the best party we have ever been to.” Sarah says that Adrian Loera, also known as DJ LoSo, helped to make that happen. Adrian tailored the music to what the couple and their guests wanted to hear.

“Everyone at our wedding was on the dance floor all night and that is exactly what we wanted!” says Sarah.

Above all, the pair created their day to suit them and give that same advice to other engaged couples: “Do what you want!” Sarah says. “Plan your day for you and only care about the things that matter to the both of you.”
