Nigerian and Chinese Wedding Captured by The Chase Collective
Dikenna Ogbo and Jane Zhen Zhao’s relationship spans years and continents. It began at UNC, where the couple met at a campus ministry. Two years later, their friendship blossomed into romance while Jane was studying abroad in Singapore and Dikenna in France.

The couple dated long distance for three years before Dikenna proposed in 2023.

Colby Chase and Whitney Chase, the husband-and-wife photography and videography team behind The Chase Collective, captured the splendor of the big day on May 2, 2024, at Oxbow Estate.

“They were super easy to communicate with,” Jane says. “Whitney and Colby were very fast in their turnaround, both in responding to our messages and [in how quickly they delivered] photos and videos.”

She says Whitney and Colby were relaxed and flexible throughout the wedding day, allowing for last-minute changes and putting everyone at ease. “The wedding party felt comfortable and not anxious about having their photos taken,” Jane says. “They were incredible.”

Igbo and Chinese Wedding Ceremonies
The ceremony incorporated scripture and prayer read in Igbo and Chinese and was arranged in a unique circular design. During the reception, guests captured memories with ZimZoom Photo Booth and enjoyed mouthwatering Nigerian cuisine and Asian sweets and snacks – one of several ways Jane and Dikenna paid homage to their respective cultures.

“We tried to combine both sides of our family. We had a [Chinese] tea ceremony for my side, and the Nigerian music, food and dancing for his side,” Jane says.
