A magical moment created by C and D Events
Triangle-area wedding planning professionals, C and D Events, built their business on three core values; service, hospitality and family. With these values on hand, C and D Events offers a wide variety of planning packages tailored to fit the needs of your wedding day.
In this styled shoot, planner Whitney Davis wanted to showcase a fresh perspective on intimate wedding ceremonies. Luckily, Reynolda Gardens, in Winston Salem, North Carolina, provided the perfect sanctuary to showcase this couple’s love as they posed surrounded by the all-natural atmosphere.
See Whitney’s garden wedding dream come to life and read all the way to the end to sneak a peak at the creative details.
Walking through the secret garden
While focusing on even the smallest details, Whitney wanted a cohesive story to be told in every element of the Reynolda Gardens wedding shoot. Through pops of greenery, hints of flowers, and a loving couple in-between, C and D Events created a timeless love story with a tad bit of whimsy to add fun to the day.
“From the watercolor invitations on handmade paper, the playful jasmine vine weaving its way around the butterfly ranunculus in our bride’s bouquet, to the hand painted gilded macarons delicately plated; our visual storytelling unfolds,” Whitney said.
Much like a flower in the field, Whitney wanted to showcase a love that grows over time. The couple featured in the shoot celebrated their one year anniversary amid the enchanted garden, capturing authentic love in the form of an intimate picnic for two. Something Whitney described as “a simple tribute to an elaborate love.”
This Reynolda Garden wedding inspiration was inspired by the idea of changing original wedding day plans. Details created a romantic setting fit for a smaller experience.
A timeless story told through delicate details
When thinking of a garden, who could forget the importance of flowers? By designing the flowers around Whitney’s three design words, classic, ethereal and timeless, the floral design showcased the beauty of a bride and added light to the photographs. Evoking a light-weight, and effortless feel for the wedding day look, these florals perfectly grabbed attention without taking away from the beauty of the surrounding greenery.
The florals were just a piece of the puzzle for this bride’s wedding day attire. To complement the scenery, Whitney chose a bridal gown to match the vision for her day. For the bride’s gown, Whitney said, “the dress was chosen due to it’s intricate floral detailing and ethereal vision.” Wedding dress aside, the groom added a whole new level of timelessness to the look by wearing a classic black tux.
Once Whitney had the perfect outfits, she had to find the most enchanting place to put the couple. Attempting to show that a wedding reception can evolve and change, Whitney wanted to showcase a romantic picnic between the two. To pull the theme together, Whitney focused on adding food elements, including macaroons, a charcuterie board and a hand-painted bottle of champagne.
Bringing the garden story together
To capture all the finite details, Whitney called on NC wedding photographer Tiffany Johnson. To pull together a romantic style for the shoot, Whitney knew that Tiffany was the perfect person to call because her photography style aligned so well with the the whimsical vision. However, Whitney did not only choose Tiffany because of her romantic style photos, but also because she knew she would genuinely capture authenticity between the real-life couple models through her ability to connect with her photography subjects.
When it came to bringing the whole day together, Whitney relied on fellow NC wedding vendors to help her bring her vision to life. By pulling together a network of passionate creators, Whitney and her team not only created a picture of garden wonder, but also showcased all the magic North Carolina has to offer.
“It shows that no matter the challenge the wedding industry faces, we always rise together and above the issue to deliver something remarkable (and unique) for our couples,” Whitney said.
