While out for drinks, Peter Gilardo and Melissa Rouse were introduced to each other through mutual friends. After a year of dating, Peter asked Melissa to marry him while playing a word game on a family beach vacation in Topsail, NC. On Nov. 16, 2019, Melissa and Peter said “I do” inside the River Landing Clubhouse. Melissa knew that River Landing was the perfect place to get married because her sister was previously married there! With two large families gathering in one place, they needed a venue that was convenient and accommodating. Originally, Melissa and Peter planned to host their wedding ceremony outside, but a Nor’easter on the day of their wedding had other plans. Melissa found the perfect, local photographer through Heart of NC Weddings. She did the research and selected Images by Amber Robinson to capture their wedding journey. From sunset engagement photos on the beach to bridal portraits at River Landing, Amber gave Melissa and Peter photos to cherish for a lifetime.

Melissa and Peter’s November wedding at River Landing was filled with romantic shades of burgundy, green and gold. Originally, they planned to share their handwritten vows in an outdoor wedding ceremony. An unexpected Nor’easter had other wedding plans in mind. Luckily, River Landing’s Clubhouse offers an elegant Grand Ballroom. Located near the coast of Eastern North Carolina, River Landing is the perfect Southern wedding destination.

Melissa and Peter’s wedding guests had the option of staying in River Landing’s on-site accommodations. Treat your friends and family to a retreat of fun and relaxation. Any golf fans in the family? River Landing Golf is one of the top golfing destinations in the region, with tournaments hosted here from all types of organizations and golfing competitions.
