Rustic Chic Winter Wedding at The Stockroom in Raleigh

It’s Wedding Feature Wednesday at Southern Bride & Groom! Today we’re sharing Katelyn and Nathaniel’s rustic chic winter wedding at The Stockroom in Raleigh, with gorgeous photos from Story Photographers.

Katelyn and Nathaniel met while on a double date — but they were dating other people! She was immediately drawn to his sweet smile and fun-loving sense of humor. After their other relationships came to a close, they met for a casual coffee date and were hooked!

During a family trip to the mountains, the pair decided to go to Chimney Rock Park. While hiking, Nathaniel got down on one knee and, completely to Katelyn’s surprise, pulled out a ring and proposed. Of course, she said yes, and afterwards, they went to Rock House Vineyard to celebrate with their friends and family.

Katelyn and Nathaniel envisioned an intimate, personal wedding day filled with things that represented them as individuals and as a couple. They selected The Stockroom at 230 in downtown Raleigh because the city had been the backdrop of most of their memorable moments while dating, and because they fell in love with the venue’s exposed brick walls, whitewashed wood beams, and gorgeous windows.

The couple chose Catering Works because of the company’s amazing reputation, and because they clicked with EW Fulcher over doing a spin on traditional Southern cuisine on their very first meeting. Catering Works also handled the florals, decor, and cake. The bride said that more people talked about the delicious wedding cake than her wedding dress!

With a soft, romantic color palette of dusty rose, shale green, cream, gold, and taupe, the two tied the knot in a beautiful, rustic chic winter event. Katelyn and Nathaniel further personalized their wedding day by writing the entire ceremony themselves, customizing the music selections (the groom even performed a mash-up of their two favorite songs during the ceremony!), doing a first look, and hand making a lot of the details, like the name cards, paper flowers, and ring box.

Please enjoy these stunning photographs of Katelyn and Nathaniel’s wedding day, courtesy of Story Photographers.
