The Love Story
Caroline and Jared met at an engagement party of mutual friends at East Village Grill in Raleigh NC. They had a flirtatious banter than night, but also a true connection. They ended up in a booth together talking for a long time about agriculture, as well as their goals and dreams. The night ended, and they went their separate ways. But as fate would have it, they crossed paths again, and this time, Jared made a move. He tracked down Caroline’s number and asked her out the next day.
Rustic Decor for NC Farm Wedding Ceremony at Hines Family Farms
What is a farm wedding without a country flair? Many rustic items were incorporated into the wedding decor. Sweet potato bins welcomed guests into the outdoor ceremony, and they were draped in gorgeous ceremony programs and floral arrangements. A tobacco leaf theme was incorporated throughout the day on the elegant paper by One and Only Paper.
Who designed this amazing rustic glam NC farm wedding? One of the top NC planners and a fave of Southern Bride and Groom, Gather Together.
“Chelsey, our planner from Gather Together, spent a lot of time trying to get to know us as a couple and turn our personalities into a dream wedding. We had to fill out questionnaires and as the bride I had several planning meetings with her that always ended in us just talking about life. She became more than a wedding planner – a friend and therapist through the planning process,” says Caroline.
Cross Altar for an Outdoor Christian Wedding
We love when we see wedding ceremonies outside of the church honor their Christianity with a cross altar. This couple said “I do” in front of a wooden cross, set beside a pond in the middle of the farm property. The cascading flowers by Watered Garden Florist added elegant beauty to the rustic cross – and matched the fall bouquets.
“The cross from the wedding is still in its exact spot and I can relive the memories with just a walk away,” says Caroline.
Selma NC Farm Wedding Tented Reception Decked in Tobacco Leaves and Rustic Elegance
Following the sacred wedding ceremony, guests made their way to the reception area. A clear-walled tent from Party Reflections provided the indoor area for dinner and dancing. Guests were welcomed with tobacco tied on sticks, like the old days. Incredible lounge areas were nestled through the inside and outside of the tent to create an enchanting ambience. Beautiful food displays were presented with elegant menus, again incorporating the tobacco leaf theme. One area inside had a faux wall of family portraits on grape vines. Outside, guests to enjoy a drink while lounging on pillows and watch the trees and even the pond light up as night fell.
Jammin’ on the Farm with Party Band from EastCoast Entertainment
The celebration culminated with live music from PUNCH, via ECE (formerly EastCoast Entertainment). They turned this sweet NC farm wedding into a real dance party!
“My favorite moment was towards the end of the night when the awesome band Punch got the crowd singing to the top of their lungs ‘Don’t Stop Believing” with Jared and I right in the middle. It was like they were singing and serenading to us,” said the bride.
This couple transformed their family farm in Selma NC into a Southern rustic glam wedding that whole heartedly represented them as a couple.
We love this bit of advice that Caroline has shared to other couples:
“Make it your own and don’t get so caught up on all the big things, those will fall into place. At the end of the day all I remembered was the sweet simple moments like dancing with my daddy and hiding away with just Jared to eat our first meal as a married couple.”
