Spring Wedding at a Durham Vineyard Planned by Socialite Events
Jermond Jackson proposed to Jacqueline Gwynn at a family gathering in Lake Norman, North Carolina, after the couple had been dating for almost 15 years. On May 27, 2024, the pair exchanged vows at ZincHouse Winery & Brewery in Durham, North Carolina, the city where they’d first met.
The couple had quickly fallen in love with the 87-acre property, which includes sprawling vineyards and contemporary buildings.

They subsequently hired April Pyatt, founder of Socialite Events, to help organize and execute their dream event. Jacqueline and Jermond met with a handful of wedding planners before finding their perfect match in April. “She was so nice that I felt comfortable with her immediately,” Jacqueline says. “She had a quick turnaround time on our initial consultation and understood everything we were going for.”
Planning their big day with April was a breeze, ensuring Jacqueline an evening feeling like a princess. Jacqueline says April advocated for her and Jermond’s interests while attending vendor meetings and helping them to select the rest of their team.
Elegant Spring Wedding in Durham, NC
On the big day, navy and rose gold tones reigned throughout the details, from the wedding party’s attire to the place settings. “I wanted to sparkle and shine on my wedding day,” Jaqueline says. She turned heads in a Dany Tabet gown from Raleigh’s White Bridal Boutiques, while Jermond and his groomsmen donned navy suits.
Their journey was one steeped in love from their families, from an engagement over a Thanksgiving meal to custom cork coasters engraved with a quote from his parents. Jacqueline says the meal – including black and blue ribeye, stuffed chicken and a baked potato bar from caterer Cake Couture Boutique – was a highlight, as was dancing with her new husband.
The newly married couple then jumped the broom, celebrating their unbreakable bond and the loving future that awaits them.

“Don’t sweat the little stuff. No one will ever know if something doesn’t go as planned,” says Jacqueline. The couple now live in Durham, North Carolina, where they both work as software engineers.
