Spring Wedding Inspo at Haven Farm in Knightdale, North Carolina
Bees trickle through Haven Farm’s orchard on a bluebird day in May, coaxed forth by spring’s mild temperatures. Striped umbrellas cast gentle shade over a gathering of imaginary guests on the neighboring patio.

Real-life spouses Micah Beachy Gilkeson and Taylor Gilkeson tied the knot just two days prior to portraying nearlyweds in this happy scene.
Micah wears a custom Be Everthine gown with a lacy bodice and removable full skirt. Be Everthine founder Eileen designed this dress just for this photo shoot! She even dreamed up several other gowns for our very own Heart of NC Weddings x Be Everthine mini collection. See them here!
Micah’s updo and peachy lip are by The Bardot, an NC hair and makeup team. Taylor’s classic ensemble from Bernard’s Formalwear follows suit with a cheerful peach bow-tie.
“The Bardot team was incredibly talented, kind and professional,” Micah says. “Thanks to their expertise, I felt confident and beautiful throughout [the day].”

Haven of Knightdale: Where Rustic Meets Refined
The festivities began under Haven Farm’s newly completed pavilion. Then, an alfresco cocktail hour takes place on the patio. Dinner and dancing take place beneath the barn’s modern five-piece chandelier, which was custom-crafted from a tree that once grew on the farm.
Haven Farm’s barn, stable and firepit are a natural extension of the property’s past life as a working equine farm. Even today, goats, horses and miniature donkeys graze and meander on a portion of its 40 acres in Knightdale, North Carolina. There are two getting-ready suites on the property, perfect for your wedding day.
NC Farm Wedding Venue with Modern Black and White Details
Gray and black accents give Haven Farm a “country chic” personality, says Director of Sales and Services Jaclyn Hamilton. This sets Haven apart from other barn venues in the Piedmont that lean more traditional.
“Because the venue has a lot of existing black in its barn doors and windows, I wanted to make sure this spring-focused design would feel natural in the space,” says Heart of NC Weddings Editorial Shoot Creative Director Amy Plant-Perdue. These moodier elements, combined with the farm’s modern feel, pair well with pastel flowers from Heritage Floral Design. Plus, these tones complement the sweet, trendy bows that decorate the invites, attire and cake.

Paper products from Wilkinson Creative Co. strike a delicate balance between current and classic. “We used the color palette and scalloped edges to bring in a playful and trendy feel,” Amy says. These invites also have timeless stationery features, like a custom monogram, floral patterns and cursive lettering.
Escort cards with a matching flowery font are displayed on a Greenhouse Picker Sisters pedestal. This “adds something more modern and unexpected to balance the lush florals … that feel like a mini garden,” Amy says.

Peachy Pink Blooms and Spring Wedding Decor
This whimsical style plays right into Heritage Floral Design’s wheelhouse. Co-owner and lead florist Chris Batts excels at creating lush arrangements full of color and texture. Low, dish-like vessels hold overflowing meadows at the head table set with Party Reflections rentals, “giving the feel of a container garden,” Amy says.

Pairing this romantic decor with Haven’s rustic and contemporary spaces alike achieves a look that’s both current and timeless. Against this backdrop, John Branch IV Photography captures authentic moments of affection in images that will remain cherished decades after the wedding day.
