The Big Fake Wedding Raleigh Was its Best Yet at top venue The Merrimon-Wynne House

Possibly the most unique wedding show is the touring event, The Big Fake Wedding. This fall, The Big Fake Wedding Raleigh took place at The Merrimon-Wynne House. Considered to be one of the best wedding venues in downtown Raleigh, this was an ideal setting.

How is this Raleigh wedding show different than the rest? The format is unlike any other wedding show taking place today. Local engaged couples attend a fake wedding – and a lucky married couple gets to renew their vows. From walking down the aisle to cutting the cake, Triangle Area wedding vendors collaborate to create a marriage masterpiece. Every year the event rotates to a different Raleigh venue. The day is full of romantic photo shoots, a fully staged ceremony, cocktail hour, and a reception dance party.

Big Fake Wedding Raleigh Themed Inspiration

Vendors participating in this event are given a wedding theme and color palette to create and display for North Carolina’s newly engaged clients. At the September 2018 Big Fake Wedding Raleigh, the bride and groom asked for a modern beach wedding with linear architecture and natural textures. Vendors delivered with elegantly muted tones and crisp white designs. Layers of dark green palm leaves and driftwood gave the evening a magical seaside-air. Floral designs filled with white roses, peonies, hydrangeas, and more, looked handpicked for the Southern Merrimon-Wynne House. Guests of the Raleigh wedding show got to watch bridesmaids in breezy-blue gowns, and groomsmen in navy sailor suits walk down the aisle before a bride adorned in a gorgeous ivory gown.
