Raleigh-Durham Wedding Cakes, Macaron Towers, Cupcake & Dessert Bars

Here in the south, the wedding cake is a big part of the reception. Tradition holds that the newlyweds cut the cake together. Certainly, it’s a fun photo opportunity. And for cake lovers, it’s a given!

However, we know there are many couples who prefer a wedding dessert bar. Each of our cake vendors can accommodate there, too! The sky is the limit with dessert options. Perhaps you love pastries, pie, or ice-cream. It’s your day! Also note, any dessert you can imagine can be made into individual serving sizes. This will help you safely plan dessert for all during the time of Covid-19.

When to Hire Your NC Wedding Cake Vendor

Traditionally, it’s smart to book your wedding cake designer at 6-8 months in advance of your Raleigh area wedding. This should ensure your top choice can accommodate your date. After all, some of these are individual artisans. On popular dates, they do have a cap on how many weddings they can take on.

Preparing for Your Meeting with Your Wedding Cake or Dessert Baker

When you connect with a baker, it might be in person, or it might be a Zoom call. Either way, bring inspiration to the meeting! Be prepared to share your Pinterest board with favorite wedding cake designs and dessert photos that have inspired you. (Explore our Heart of NC Weddings Pinterest page to get started!)

Also, be prepared to share your guest count and dessert budget with your wedding cake artist.

No matter how you meet, sample some flavors to make sure you like their style. Of course, many bakers are brick and mortar shops that you can pop into anytime for a taste test. Others offer drive-by tastings! Pick up a box of goodies from the baker. Then, taste at your leisure OR “meet up” with the cake artist on Zoom to chat through the flavors.
