The Carolina Estate in Roxboro offers a polished, upscale vibe with a surprising level of versatility. The estate’s 11,000-square-foot interior boasts several unique event spaces, from the ballroom to multiple curated dressing suites to a cozy lounge and bar area, ideal for gatherings of any size.
The 23-acre property is surrounded by trees and centered around a 5.5-acre pond that’s visible from the venue’s back porches. Tunnel Creek Vineyards
Venture down a few unassuming roads through Person County’s scenic countryside and you’ll find yourself at Tunnel Creek Vineyards – one of Person County’s most elegant wedding venues. This rural vineyard and event venue, nestled on 400 acres of rolling North Carolina hills, is renowned as one of the most pristine wineries in the state.
Tunnel Creek Vineyards, named for the popular, photogenic and historic bridge on the property, is home to several scenic event spaces, including a barn – available for events all year long – and an 8,000-square-foot wine-tasting facility – complete with a cozy wine cellar and spacious back porch.
Unsalted Farm at Hyco Lake
If getting married on a hilltop with waterfront views sounds like a dream come true, put this Semora, North Carolina, venue on your list to tour. The name may have given it away, but Unsalted Farm at Hyco Lake offers nearly limitless stunning views of the nearby lake, one of Person County’s best kept secrets.
The 15-acre venue features two primary event spaces, both of which are included when you make your reservation. The first is the main banquet hall, complete with an open-air porch, outdoor fireplace and a romantic bench swing hanging from a tree in the front yard. The second is the lakefront house located closer to the main road. This space features a charming wrap-around porch, a brick patio and a dreamy gazebo positioned right on the lake – perfect for more intimate ceremonies.
Sunset Ridge Buffalo Farm
Sunset Ridge Buffalo Farm isn’t your typical farm wedding venue – here, you can tie the knot with a few furry, four-legged friends in attendance. Exchange vows at the farm’s waterfront gazebo overlooking buffalo pastures, then treat your guests to a covered wagon ride around the property.
Another unique element of Sunset Ridge Buffalo Farm is the outdoor kitchen. This makes any outdoor reception or after-party a breeze, providing you and your vendor team with access to a variety of modern kitchen conveniences.
The 900-square-foot gazebo, complete with ceiling fans, miniature lights, optional sidewalls and heaters, is a truly spectacular outdoor ceremony space. Kirby Cultural Arts Complex

The Kirby, built in 1949, was renovated to function as a modern gathering space in 2011. Rental options are flexible: you can reserve the 743-seat auditorium, perfect for art or history lovers planning a large wedding, while the second floor, called Kirby Rebirth, offers two formal event spaces that can be used for wedding ceremonies and receptions.
Kirby Rebirth’s main hall offers a convenient setting for receptions, ideal for a seamless transition following your ceremony in the auditorium. Rentals with Kirby Rebirth also include tables and chairs, with tablecloths available for an additional $5 each. However, the real magic of this Uptown Roxboro venue is its classic theater marquee above the entrance – a sweet way to celebrate your love story with a custom message!
Mayo Lake Park
This 12-acre public park, located in northeastern Person County, is the perfect outdoor space for a waterfront wedding ceremony or reception. Its well-maintained grounds and facilities are home to several spacious areas, including Mayo Park’s Environmental Education and Community Center and picnic shelters.
The community center offers more than 1,600 square feet of event space, ideal for celebrations of up to 200 guests. Mayo Lake Park is a haven for any outdoorsy couple, even offering RV campsites, tent sites and cabins. Each is accessible by car or via Mayo Park’s trail system.
