Both the bride and groom, as well as their respective parties, donned the utmost of class in their wedding day fashion. The bride words an elegant long sleeve Demetrios Bride gown with transparent patterns and a button up back. Her bridesmaids wore matching champagne colored beaded gowns and all of the men wore classic black and white tuxedos.

Southern Wedding Tradition of Burying the Bourbon

If you’re not from the south you may find this tradition a little out there. As Southern wedding tradition says, if you bury a bottle of bourbon before your wedding day at your venue, the rain will hold off and give you a sunny day. Whether or not you believe it, it worked for this couple!

The bride shared her one advice for other brides, “Bury the bourbon! A week before our wedding day the forecast called for a 90% chance of rain. We buried the bourbon, did a few rain dances, and what do you know…it was a gorgeous day filled with warmth and sunshine!”

Outdoor Lawn Wedding at Downtown Raleigh Venue

The couple chose to have their ceremony outside on the beautifully groomed lawns of Merrimon Wynne in downtown Raleigh. (Good thing they buried the bourbon!) The reception hall on the property provided a charming backdrop for the ceremony and a copper-accented wedding arch framed the couple while they exchanged nuptials.

Copper-Accented Southern Merrimon Wynne Wedding Reception

The indoor wedding hall of The Merrimon-Wynne House is beyond charming. The white wooden walls and ceiling scream Southern charm. The couple used neutral colors and copper accents to bring the room together. Long greenery table runners and candles were lovely additions to the wedding reception decor. The ceremony arbor was repurposed as a backdrop around the sequin and candle covered sweetheart table.

The Merrimon Wynne wedding reception was catered by the one and only, Rocky Top Catering. “Rocky Top delivered delicious food and wonderful service. We got so many compliments on our food,” shared Amanda.
