“We started out as a small mom and pop store more than 50 years ago, on the corner of Club and Buchanan boulevards in Durham,” says president and owner George Hanna. “As we grew, we moved to the busy 9th Street area. Eventually, the old Dailey’s Hardware and Appliance store became Bernard’s permanent home.” 

“Through more than five decades of experience, we have seen plenty of styles come and go – from powder blue with ruffled shirts to mandarin collars, button covers and longer ‘duster’ style jackets, to today’s modern and slim-fit styles. We have always kept up with the trends to assure our customers look their best,” George adds.
