From “Favorite Friend” to “Forever Favorite,” Jennine and Steve’s Love Story
Jennine and Steve’s friendship goes all the way back to their student-athlete days at Elon University. The friends liked to playfully tease one another at athletic gatherings. Neither remembers how it started, but Jennine and Steve would often refer to each other as “Favorite Girl,” and “Favorite Guy”. Five years after graduating from Elon, it was fate that their paths crossed again. Jennine says, “We knew right away that we were each others Forever Favorites when we “re-met” at homecoming!”
The fun loving couple got engaged on a gorgeous mountain getaway in Asheville, NC. Steve suggested going on a sunrise hike, so they woke up early and got to the top of the mountain before the sun came up. While Jennine was busy taking photos, Steve came up from behind her and got down on one knee! Keep scrolling to see how their love story came to life at their blush wedding at The Cotton Room in Durham, NC.

Moments such as Jennine’s mother helping her step into the bridal gown, or Steve sharing the first dance with his wife can’t easily be described with words.

The brick walls of The Cotton Room venue provided gorgeous, warm backdrops for this blush wedding party. We absolutely adore Morgan Caddell’s signature photo of the bride and groom’s faces touching side by side. And c’mon y’all, how dapper and handsome do those groomsmen look?
Industrial Chic Wedding Ceremony at The Cotton Room in Durham, NC
Jennine and Steve chose to host both their wedding ceremony and reception at The Cotton Room in Durham, NC. The restored warehouse venue has tons of space and can easily be flipped from ceremony altar to dance floor. Massive factory windows behind the altar blanketed the bride and groom in an airy light as they shared their vows. A simple arbor covered in fresh greenery and white drapery was just enough decor for this elegant ceremony. Jennine’s Aunt Cheryl added a special touch to The Cotton Room wedding by playing the violin for their ceremony!

Jennine and Steve went to CE Rental to find their blush and purple wedding reception linens. The vibrant purple napkins add a fresh pop of color to the table places. Look closely, and you’ll notice the Durham skyline on the bottom of the table number cards! Last but not least, and perhaps the most stunning detail of this wedding reception, the green floral arrangement hanging above the dance floor. This wedding detail gives shape to The Cotton Room venue space and serves as a stunning centerpiece. Bride Jennine’s favorite memory of the night was made on the dance floor,
“It was amazing to see all my family and friends from different walks of my life come together for one great party!”
