Bustled Events Planner Diane Wolk Brought This Downtown Raleigh Wedding To Life

Colbjorn Erlandson proposed to Erica Ramaker while the couple rested after hiking to a Hanging Rock State Park mountain overlook in summer 2020. They’d met back in 2014 while both working for the Minnesota Twins. The couple married at the Klein-Pringle White Garden inside the JC Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh on June 4, 2022, after hiring Bustled Events owner Diane Wolk to do the heavy lifting to organize their big day. Diane worked closely with Colbjorn and Erica to plan a celebration honoring their partnership.
The couple’s downtown Raleigh wedding kicked off with a rehearsal dinner at Trophy Brewing Co. “We rented two of their rooms for a more casual, open house type of experience,” Colbjorn says. “The doors opened to the patio and our guests loved every minute! The food selection was excellent and fairly priced, and of course the staff at Trophy made everything easy that evening. 10/10!”
“We were very intentional about wanting to avoid the common ‘man and wife’ connotation throughout the day,” Colbjorn says. “As such, we asked our officiant to speak about us as individuals and as partners.” Colbjorn’s father, Sven Erlandson, officiated the ceremony under the shade of the Arboretum’s gazebo.
Violinist Udeshi Hargett of Udeshi Hargett Ensembles played during the outdoor ceremony. “Udeshi and her crew were wonderfully helpful and very accommodating,” Colbjord says, “They have an eclectic portfolio and played beautiful music!”

Guidance and Thoughtful Execution from Bustled Events
Diane helped hone in on a caterer, party rental supplier, florist and other essential vendors that the couple needed. “We came into the wedding planning process with little vision and wanted to rely heavily on a planner,” Colbjorn says. “Diane was absolutely the person for the job. She helped us find our vision for the day and was even more instrumental in the execution. She was always immediately responsive and helpful, and was especially adept at guiding us to making decisions when we struggled.” Diane helped the pair book The Cannon Room in downtown Raleigh. While the pair had originally envisioned a large wedding inviting all of their out-of-town relatives, they eventually decided on a paired-down guest list, and The Cannon Room was a perfect fit for their reception of 51.

A New Take On Wedding Bells
For a musical entrance, Erica’s mother weaved wildflowers into tambourines that were placed at each guest’s seat. To the couple’s surprise, everyone shook their tambourines as they walked into the reception. “We crossed all walks of life and were truly honored that our guests arrived ready to celebrate,” Colbjorn says. In lieu of a traditional wedding cake, the couple served 11 pies in a variety of flavors.

Bowerbird Flowers & Apothecary supplied bright arrangements to decorate the space. “Bowerbird was incredibly accommodating, flexible and helpful,” Colbjorn says. “… Erica loves wildflowers, so our wedding colors were eclectic.” Bowerbird’s signature whimsical style perfectly complemented the bright, airy space inside The Cannon Room.

The couple ended their evening at Raleigh’s speak-easy-inspired underground bar, Watts & Ward, with most of their guests.
