For more than 45 years, the Rev. Perry Hardison has officiated weddings based on a belief that the wedding day should be unique and special to each couple, taking care that every ceremony is tailored to the wishes of the couple – whether they desire a religious ceremony, secular or anywhere in-between. Perry Hardison is an ordained Baptist minister who is authorized to perform weddings in North Carolina. While he’s based in Chapel Hill, he officiates weddings in Raleigh, Greensboro, Durham, Burlington and many other parts of North Carolina – and will happily travel to your destination wedding!

“The wedding belongs to the couple, so my job is to listen to their wishes and work with them on putting together a ceremony script that is theirs,” Perry says. “I function as a coach to guide them through the marriage license process and the composition of their ceremony.” 

Weddings are a celebration but also one of the most important days of a couples’ life. “I strive to hit a balance of celebration and dignity fitting the day,” Perry adds. Tying the knot can also be a cause for anxiety, so Perry strives to provide a calming influence, guiding couples through the ceremony in a way that helps them fully enjoy the moment.

Perry is certified in the Prepare Enrich method, so premarital counseling is a service he offers for couples, though it isn’t required. 

“I have done more than 1,000 weddings of all types,” Perry says. “This helps me guide my couples through their ceremony to achieve the experience they dream of.”
