Sparks & Sand is a Raleigh-based floral design studio designing creative, romantic and eclectic wedding flowers for the couples who want something a little less traditional and a lot more them. 

“We create whimsical, romantic florals with an edge,” says founder and lead designer Mekai Ely. “We love playing with movement, texture, color and personality.” Every design is crafted to feel wildly unique and deeply personal, whether it’s for an intimate celebration to a full-scale wedding weekend.

Sparks & Sand blends Californian style with an organic, artful approach to wedding florals. The studio is known for designs that feel modern, playful and effortlessly romantic, inspired by non-traditional florals, unexpected color palettes and creative freedom.

“The goal is always to create florals that reflect the couple and elevate the atmosphere of the day in a way that feels natural and unforgettable, whether clients arrive with a full Pinterest board or simply want their wedding to feel ‘cool,’” Mekai says.

Sparks & Sand got its start in Palm Springs, California, and was based there for several years before Mekai relocated to Raleigh. The studio proudly serves couples throughout North Carolina, California and beyond.

Mekai and her team thrive on designing for the fun, funky, romantic and wildly in love. Every arrangement is curated with the intention of creating arrangements that remain memorable  long after the wedding day.
