The hotel is located on the campus of the University of North Carolina. It’s not just UNC alums who are eager to exchange vows here, but they might top the list.

You might know of The Carolina Inn as a place for grand weddings. There are six traditional ballrooms, each with unique Southern details. With its black-and-white checkered floors, the Old Well ballroom is possibly the most famous event space in Chapel Hill. The Hill Ballroom can host larger events.

There are multiple lawn areas which can be used for an outdoor wedding ceremony or cocktail hour. Two of these locations are large enough to be tented for an outdoor Chapel Hill wedding reception. Regardless of where you exchange your vows, every Carolina Inn wedding will include photos around the gorgeous grounds! And if you’re UNC alumni, please note that the Old Well is just a block away.

Rehearsal Dinners, Showers or Intimate Events

There are several small private rooms at The Carolina Inn. These are great options for a shower, engagement party or rehearsal dinner in Chapel Hill. No two rooms are alike, and each parlor has its own character. Finally, take note that The Carolina Inn can host a traditional Southern afternoon tea, which is great for pre-wedding activities.

It’s also worth noting, you can rest assured that the wedding food will be excellent. After all, the Inn is also famous for its onsite restaurant, Crossroads Chapel Hill.
