Fabulous Fall Decor at Downtown Durham Wedding Venue Suite Four
Nuumo Taalib El-Amin and Gwendolyn Patterson said “I do” on Oct. 2, 2020, at downtown Durham wedding venue Suite Four. Their relationship began one evening when Gwendolyn was sitting on her screened-in porch. Somehow, a family prank involving FaceTime led to a “love at first sight” virtual meeting. The two exchanged phone numbers – “I called every day and night, wanting to hear that magic voice,” Nuumo says. And Gwendolyn says, “He [was] my wake-up call every morning, and my goodnight call every night. We have been given an extremely precious gift of love in our fourth quarter. We are God’s Ephesians 2:10 ‘masterpiece,’ and we are so blessed.”
Durham, NC Wedding Planner Joye Speight of Virtue Events
It would take a gifted wedding planner to coordinate a worthy wedding for two extraordinary people in just two weeks. Nuumo and Gwendolyn were confident that Joye Speight of Virtue Events could get it done, and she did, with grace and style! Joye designed a fall-themed wedding full of warm color and texture at Suite Four. But the most special element of this wedding was a surprise – Joye worked with Gwendolyn’s daughter to make sure that they could talk to their deployed grandson on the day of their wedding.
“Only work with a planner and designer that you trust,” Gwendolyn says. “Planning a wedding on a short timeline can lead to stress, but having someone who you know will take care of you is paramount.”
