Frolicking through lavender fields at Lavender Oaks Farm
When looking for a wedding venue, Lavender Oaks Farm in Chapel Hill, NC was the perfect choice for Kim and Matt. After receiving the link for their website from her sister in Pittsburgh during their wedding venue search, the two fell in love with the venue and the way it made them feel while visiting. Upon meeting Karen MacDonald, the owner of the Farm, Kim knew they wanted to be married at the venue in the peak of lavender season.
“We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful location for our wedding especially in the peak of the lavender season,” Kim said. “Karen was great to work with throughout the planning process and helpful to shift gears/make changes to keep guests safe due to COVID.”
Kim and Matt also took advantage of the option to hold their rehearsal dinner at Lavender Oaks Farm. Looking out upon the beautiful lavender scenery, the two were so excited to share the venue with their guests on their wedding day.
When asked about the rehearsal dinner space, Kim said that, “Lavender Oaks was a great location for the rehearsal dinner as there was plenty of outdoor space for guests to spread out/distance and enjoy the fresh lavender.”
It’s all in the details
From delicious food to specialized favors, Kim and Matt’s wedding was definitely a day they’ll never forget. To pay tribute to her hometown roots, Kim followed the Pittsburg tradition to have a cookie table at her wedding. By putting their own twist on the tradition, the couple gave each guest a sweet treat to remember the day, a box of homemade cookies to take back home.
In addition to the cookies, Kim and Matt also gave guests a sachet of lavender to remember their special day at Lavender Oaks Farm. For decoration, the two made sure the inside of their wedding venue was just as beautiful as the outside, with rentals from CE rental and special touches of their personalities throughout the space.
To compliment the lavender scenery outside, Kim and Matt’s wedding party looked charming in dusty blue. For their florals, they added in shades of white, soft pink, and peach. As a final touch and to tie the whole scene together, the couple added touches of gold and greenery, allowing them to create the perfect atmosphere to showcase their love.
