A Large, Formal Wedding at the Riverfront Convention Center of Craven County
Meredith and Nishant’s love story began when a mutual friend introduced them. They would later get engaged on the beach while vacationing in Cancun, Mexico. The pair chose New Bern, North Carolina, to host a formal wedding with their friends and loved ones.
“There were so many moving parts to this wedding, and Anne Griggs and Christa Tarver from The French Bee Events did an excellent job making it all come together,” Meredith says.
A Wedding Weekend in New Bern, North Carolina
Festivities began on June 9, 2023, with a traditional Hindu ceremony at Greenville Country Club. The following day, the couple exchanged rings from Diamonds Direct at Christ Episcopal Church of New Bern, followed by a reception at the Riverfront Convention Center of Craven County, a short walk from the church.
“We chose [the convention center] because it was spacious enough to accommodate over 350 guests and provided a stunning view of the waterfront,” Meredith says.
Anne and Christa met with the couple multiple times to create a seamless itinerary honoring the cultural heritage of both celebrants. The reception combined Indian and American cuisines, music and traditional elements, such as a first dance, dances with the bride’s father and the groom’s mother, and Bollywood-style dances performed by friends and family.
White, gold and blush details matched flower arrangements by Anne, who has two decades of floral design experience. Additional draping and a checkered dance floor created an elegant backdrop for dinner and dancing.
