What could be more memorable than a New Year’s Eve wedding in Raleigh? Imagine, kissing your new spouse at midnight, surrounded by family, friends and lots of sparklers!

Today, we’re sharing Virginia McMillan and Woodie Williams’ Dec. 31, 2020 wedding. The ceremony took place at Hayes Barton United Methodist Church in Raleigh. This was followed by a luxurious reception at The Merrimon-Wynne House, planned by Sally Oakley Weddings & Events. Certainly, this was a celebration to remember.

From a toast with all of their closest friends to a romantic kiss at the stroke of midnight, this winter wedding was full of special moments. Every vendor went above and beyond to create a festive evening. And, in New Year’s wedding style, it was complete with fun props, Champagne tower and espresso martinis. After all, the midnight toast was a must!

A Raleigh Love Story for Virginia McMillan and Woodie Williams

Virginia and Woodie grew up down the street from each other and attended the same high school in Raleigh. But, it wasn’t until several years after college that they reconnected.

They attended separate universities. Later, two close friends set them up after both Virginia and Woodie moved back to their hometown. They hit it off right away. The rest is history!

Woodie’s proposal brought everything full circle. He took Virginia on a scavenger hunt to all of their favorite places in Raleigh. This included her grandfather’s house, and where they had their first date.

The couple and Sally Oakley Weddings & Events got right to work on planning the most celebratory nuptials: a New Year’s Eve wedding in Raleigh!
