Bright, Eclectic Floral Design & Hot Pink Details
Wes and Rebecca met while living in Atlanta through roller derby and dated for eight years before tying the knot in an eclectic, colorful ceremony at Rebecca’s family’s venue, The Cotton Room, in September 2023.
“Growing up in the wedding industry, I’ve watched my mom (Michelle Aldred) plan thousands of weddings for other people and finally got to be the bride myself,” Rebecca says. “What a wonderful experience to have our wedding in my family’s venue. Everyone at The Cotton Room was so accommodating and made sure every detail of our day was perfect.”

Eclectic Colorful Wedding Design by Something Fabulous Weddings & Events
Triangle-based full service wedding planners Something Fabulous Weddings & Events designed an event that combined Wes and Rebecca’s desire for a colorful, fall-focused palette infusing mustard yellows, oranges and dark teal with The Cotton Room’s warm brick and romantic, arched windows.

“Trent with Something Fabulous made everything come together and made the whole process stress free, which is really saying something considering we were still living in Atlanta when we planned our wedding,” Rebecca says.

Colorful Eclectic Floral Design by Petal & Oak with Pops of Hot Pink
“Melissa Powers with Petal & Oak went way above and beyond anything we could have imagined,” Rebecca says. “We told her we wanted lots of color and textures, something playful and unexpected, and no white flowers. She delivered in spades. The flowers were so gorgeous, we received compliments on them for months afterwards.”

Pops of hot pink, fuscia and blue created a vibrant display in The Cotton Room’s airy warehouse space. Additional floral arrangements filled an escort display and tables set with luxurious velvet linens and patterned china from Curated Events Raleigh.

Wes and Rebecca’s ceremony and reception were punctuated by personal touches. “After we walked back up the aisle together at the end of our ceremony, Queen’s ‘You’re My Best Friend’ was playing and we had a moment alone just the two of us as husband and wife for the first time,” Rebecca says. “We both had the biggest smiles and couldn’t contain our excitement, and almost disbelief that after all the planning and organizing we were finally married!”
During the reception, guests were treated to tarot and palm readings, a cigar rolling booth and late-night snacks including chicken and waffles. Catered by The Cotton Room’s in-house catering team, the menu also included a pasta bar and tacos.
The couple reside in Fuquay-Varina and both work for The Cotton Room’s parent company, TC Hospitality Group.
