Bella & Brad’s January Wedding with Emerald Accents Planned by Anthem House
Bella Allen and Brad Debo tied the knot in a classic winter wedding at The Merrimon-Wynne House on Jan. 14, 2023.
The Hillsborough, North Carolina, natives started out as high school sweethearts and eventually became life partners. Brad proposed at Bella’s family lake house, surprising her with a picnic on the dock and an upgraded diamond for the engagement ring they’d picked out together.

Bella says that hosting their January wedding at The Merrimon-Wynne House was a no-brainer. “I had always loved [the venue] and its aesthetic but wasn’t sure if it would be the right fit until we toured it,” she says. “[That’s when I] instantly knew it was the place we’d get married.”
The venue connected the couple with Anthem House to assist them with all things wedding planning.

Bella formed a quick bond with Amanda Honeycutt, creative director of Anthem House. “We worked with Amanda and her team for over 15 months, so we formed a very close friendship,” she says. “[They ensured] the design was elegant and timeless so that we can look back on it in 50 years and still be obsessed.”

Emerald and Champagne Winter Wedding Theme
The couple leaned in to a winter theme for their January wedding, with gold and white linens and tabletop items provided by Curated Events Raleigh, and custom dark emerald stationery from Ivy and Linen Design Co.
Bella stunned in a classic ballgown while Brad and his groomsmen sported traditional tuxes. The bridesmaids wore Champagne and emerald dresses from Bella Bridesmaids Raleigh.

Bella says her vision was made a reality by Anthem House and the other vendors that contributed to their January wedding. Guests enjoyed Mexican cuisine, the couple’s favorite, for dinner. HL Catering Company provided the meal, along with churros and chocolate for dessert.
The couple made the day their own by incorporating personal elements: Bella’s godfather served as the officiant of the wedding, and the groom’s cake included cake topper featuring the couple’s pets, Easton and Dierks.

Bella says the day was a dream come true, and that “nothing would have been possible without the Anthem House team.” Bella advises engaged couples to take a step back to appreciate each moment leading up to and on the wedding day.

“Even during the planning, there are certain things that you will look back on and remember how much fun it was to pick out your bridesmaids dresses with all your girls or to sit and smell all the flowers that will be at your table the day of,” she says.
