“AC” stands for Ashley Christenson, and Ashley Christenson stands for award-winning Southern soul food. Fans of Chef Ashley Christensen’s restaurants will love the opportunity to mix and match those Southern reimagined classics and comfort dishes for their own wedding event!

Ashley Christensen has been renovating historic buildings into some of Raleigh’s most popular downtown restaurants starting over 12 years ago with Poole’s Diner, and is still expanding the Triangle’s dining scene with two more in 2019. All the while, many community and national charities have benefited from her generosity and her belief in spreading the word of inclusiveness and fairness for all. Ashley was the 2019 James Beard Award winner as Outstanding Chef in America award – the country’s top food honor. This was Ashley’s second recognition from the James Beard Foundation in less than six years, as she was previously named best Chef, southeast. Ashley is an amazing chef and recipe creator, and now a leader in bringing more and more talent into the world of cuisine careers. As her team in each restaurant will quickly attest, she is their mentor, and has created a well-oiled team to run their restaurants and their catering arm, AC Events.

AC Events can provide full service at your wedding or just provide delivery and set up. They also have their own downtown Raleigh rehearsal dinner and wedding venue! Bridge Club is a fabulous two-level event space above her fine dining restaurant, Death & Taxes.

AC Events Chef Dan Palemo, who prepared the dishes for this food editorial, loves the challenge and variety of off-premise catering all around NC and making every kitchen and venue work smoothly. Support AC Events During COVID-19

Chef Ashley Christensen helped set up the Triangle Restaurant Workers Relief Fund, an effort to raise money for those missing their next paycheck. The fund is set up for the cooks, servers, bartenders, dishwashers and other restaurant industry workers in the Triangle. The fund is being hosted by the Frankie Lemmon School & Development Center, which Christensen has helped raise funds for in the past.
