Burgundy and Blue Wedding at Garner’s Industrial Modern Venue

Nicholas and Julian’s Burgundy and Blue Wedding Day at The Distillery

Nicholas and Julian’s spontaneous first date took place just a few days after meeting and getting to know each other online. They both happened to be visiting downtown Raleigh on the same evening and decided to meet at Morgan Street Food Hall. The pair ended up talking for hours before realizing they were the last two at the bar. They were destined for a memorable burgundy and blue wedding in downtown Garner, North Carolina.

Three-and-a-half years after their first date, Julian proposed on his 30th birthday and received a, “Well, duh!” from Nicholas in response to the ring box he slid across the table. The couple married on June 18, 2022, at The Distillery. Nicholas says that owner Chad Biggs “and his team were professional and knowledgeable, which made the experience even better. The venue was in the perfect location in downtown Garner on a quiet street with a lot of greenery for photos.”

Airel Kaitlin Photography Strategically Captures All the Details

Ariel Kaitlin Photography took Nicholas and Julian’s engagement pictures. Ariel Mason and her partner and second shooter, Alex Ross, also captured Nicholas and Julian’s special day – everything from pre-ceremony details and the couple’s first looks to dancing and a glow stick send-off. “[Ariel and Alex] made it so easy to be in front of a camera and had great strategies to get you laughing,” Nicholas says. “Working with them was a great experience. They are extremely organized and on top of everything. The pictures always come out so naturally … When we look through our final images, we can relive our wedding day second by second.”

Rocky Top Catering served guests during the cocktail hour and reception. “The Rocky Top team was a pleasure to work with and was a huge help with choosing our menu and handling all the details for our big day,” Nicholas says. “Our guests are still raving on how good the macaroni and cheese was!”

Wedding Vendors Decorate The Distillery in Burgundy and Blue

The couple also highlighted the contributions of the rest of their vendor team, including their rehearsal dinner spot, Caffe Luna, Kaisey Wilkinson as their month-of planner, Heritage Flowers for the beautiful floral arrangements and Curated Events Raleigh Rentals for the linens and flatware. DJ Alan Domingo, a close friend of the couple, provided music and entertainment throughout the night and kept guests on the dance floor.

Nicholas and Julian’s wedding colors were burgundy, steel blue and sage green, and they incorporated personal touches throughout their event. They adorned the tables with photos showcasing their journey as a couple, used a whiskey barrel bottom as a guest book and featured signature cocktails that reflected their favorite liquors.

In addition, personalized AlphaLit Marquee Letters spelled the couple’s initials in bright lights in The Distillery’s modern event space.

The couple focused on creating a memorable and personalized celebration that reflected their love and relationship. They cherished the opportunity to celebrate with their friends and family and highlighted the intimate last dance they shared as a favorite moment of the day.
