Meg’s Flowers
About
Every event requires many decisions, and Meg’s Flowers works toward these with intention, care and thoughtfulness, prioritizing sustainable floral design through use of foam-free products, upcycling and composting. Its florals and greenery are sourced from local farms, co-ops and wholesalers in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
Owner and lead floral designer Meg Schroeder also works hard to source other goods, like candles and vessels, thoughtfully as well: sustainable candles are upcycled from used ones or purchased from local apiaries, and glass vases, containers and more are thrifted, bought secondhand or purchased from artists. “It’s not a perfect system yet,” admits owner and lead floral designer Meg Schroeder. “… but with each experience we learn what we might do better next time!”
Sustainable Floral Design in NC and Beyond
“Waste is so prevalent in events,” Meg says. “So we commit to donating, reusing, composting or upcycling as much as possible, hopefully making your decision to lean more sustainable easier as we have worked to integrate these practices into our everyday choices.”
Quality is key and locally grown florals are a reliable and sustainable choice. Meg and her team are proud to work closely with their farm partners to source incredible blooms, which are grown and gathered with care for your big day.
Personalized Bouquets and Wedding Florals by Meg’s Flowers
Meg believes your event should feel like you – not just beautiful, but familiar and true to your vibe. “Whether it’s a bloom that reminds you of your grandmother, a favorite color or a nod to an inspiration or theme (Hobbiton-inspired tablescapes, tiny dinos hidden in bouquets or a lightsaber keychain attached to a bouquet for your May fourth celebration), we delight in making every moment count,” Meg says. “Because in the end, it’s not just about the flowers – it’s about making space for meaning, memory and joy, and trusting that even the smallest, most thoughtful choices can quietly become something unforgettable.”
