This was the first year The Big Fake Wedding came to Raleigh and it was a big hit! Complete with dinner and drinks, an emotional vow-renewal ceremony and a dance-party reception, this event is a true source of inspiration and a resource in finding trusted wedding vendors. Hand-selected vendors perform their services as they would at a real wedding, and “wedding guests,” as they would at a real wedding, listen to the music, taste the cakes, and smell the flowers…all while enjoying a night of great food, dancing and surprises.
Raleigh’s “bride” and “groom,” Alyssa and Joseph, met in middle school and began dating in 7th grade! Years later, in 2013, they were married in the small town where they grew up. The Big Fake Wedding was a fun experience for them to renew their vows and celebrate all over again, this time at the charming downtown venue 214 Martin Street.
