Overlook Barn and Mountain Wedding Venues in NC Inspire Love
When you fall in love, you want the whole world to know. You want to climb to the highest peak of the highest mountain and shout at the top of your lungs – I’m in love, I’m in LOVE!
Which is why a team of NC wedding vendors led by A Southern Soiree traveled to Overlook Barn to assemble this incredible styled shoot. A wedding, after all, is the perfect time and place to catch an unfiltered glimpse of love. On this special day we wear love without any shame, without trying to hide it, we put love on full display and celebrate it. This unique look at love goes beyond the wedding vows. It’s a love from the betrothed with open arms and hearts to all who have come to witness their joining, and an invitation to love them together as a couple.
Custom-made invitations with watercolor illustrations by Blush & Blue Calligraphy and Design set the tone for a mountain wedding at Overlook Barn. Below, an elegant pair of earrings from Poppy & Co. await their bride.
Mountain Wedding Decor Designed by A Southern Soiree
Massive barn doors blanketed in greenery and blossoms welcome guests inside the barn reception like a grandmother’s embrace. Inside, strands of twinkling lights and suspended greenery with brightly colored gladioli guide your eyes from the floor all the way to the arched ceiling bringing the outdoors in. Wooden farm tables from Overlook Barn are dressed in moss and floral runners while round tables wear navy blue linens and blush velvet napkins. Large, lush cafe au lait dahlias are the stars of the show in every appearance.
Take a closer look at the hand-painted watercolor place cards – they recall the hazy blue skyline of the Blue Ridge mountains. Taper candles cast a glow on delicate gold flatware adding elegance to the rustic decor. The mixture of aged pieces of character and modern flair throughout the entire reception space creates a whimsical wedding ambiance. From the rich colors and bountiful flowers to the rustic, reclaimed wood and mesmerizing views, this shoot inspires the mountain wedding of our dreams!
Sunset Cocktail Hour at Overlook Barn
The wedding party gathers outside for a sunset cocktail hour. The fig hibiscus cooler cocktail, delicious and refreshing, is a nod to late-summer yields in the mountains. Their wooden stirrers have an iridescent mountain image. Spirits were served from a vintage 1947 Dodge pickup transformed into a mobile bar.
Indoor and Outdoor Ceremony Spaces at Overlook Barn Wedding Venue
Overlook Barn is one of the best NC mountain wedding venues. If you’re seeking a rustic barn wedding but also loves the idea of sweeping views of the Blue Ridge Mountains as the backdrop to your ceremony, this venue will be your dream come true. The star attraction on the property is a renovated historic barn that is perched atop Beech Mountain, NC. It is a white barn which gives it an elegant air, even as it is rustic. When you walk in, you first are awestruck by the 30-foot arched ceilings with original exposed wood beams.
Overlook Barn was fully renovated in 2015 with couples in mind. It is the epitome of upscale rustic elegance. Renovations included installing high-end acid-stained concrete floors, opening stalls for additional event space, renovating four bathrooms, and building two upscale suites for brides and grooms to get ready in: The Styling Suite and Polishing Room. Additionally, Overlook Barn has pre-installed string lighting and electric outlets generously dispersed throughout the property to allow flexibility for all events. Overlook Barn can accommodate 250 guests for a seated dinner.
Mountain View Wedding Ceremony at Overlook Barn
It doesn’t get any more romantic than saying “I do” in a mountain view wedding ceremony. An A-frame geometric arbor mirrors the natural angles of the mountain ridge. Flower boxes sit on the ends of wooden benches to line the aisle. Bouquets of peach, pink, lavender and magenta pair with a bohemian rug to add color to the ceremony space. Friends, family and the surrounding mountaintops lean in closely to hear the bride and groom share their sacred vows. Following the ceremony, the intimate group meanders across the meadow to Overlook Barn for an evening reception.
