Next Level Wedding Entertainment in the Triangle Area
What do you want people to remember about your wedding?
Some say that we’re behind the times in the south, but when it comes to wedding entertainment, we’re ahead of the curb. Our recommended vendors are full of surprises that will elevate your upcoming event!
The wedding ceremony is wrapped, and you are now officially hitched. It’s time to celebrate! Whether you are hosting an intimate dinner gathering, or a knock-down rager, you’ll want to include some elements to keep your guests engaged.
Set the Stage
The DJ display is no longer just a four foot table draped in black linen. Local DJs are professionals with killer set ups – custom leather white booths, slick backdrops, or even video screens and light shows that can transform your reception into a dance club. If you use one of our recommended DJs, talk to them about including one of these preferred set-ups in your package. Alternately, if you want your wedding band to have a snazzy set-up, you’ll need to work with your rental company to get the gear. Talk to your booking agency about your bands basic requirements.
Be Part of the Band
No, we’re not suggesting a karaoke party for your wedding (there are actually cool local bands that would be fun for the after party, but please spare Grandma and stick to a traditional band or DJ for the wedding).
Some of the big soul, funk and pop bands that you can book for your wedding, will learn songs by request in advance of the wedding so they can perform it on your big day. All they need is enough time to learn it. As you look into your partner’s eyes, you’ll feel like it’s the real John Legend crooning “All of Me.”
If you really want to blow everyone away, put your own talents to the test, and sing alongside the band yourself! What could be more romantic than a surprise serenade for your new husband or wife? We’ve also seen wedding party members take the stage! Book the best live band for your wedding with ECE EastCoast Entertainment.
Live Wedding Painting
A custom piece of art will live on as a timeless keepsake. We’re so excited to recommend This Creative Nest, a local stationery artist and live event artist. Before the wedding you’ll consult with painter Ashely Triggiano about the scene you’d like her to bring to life – for example, the ceremony, the newlyweds in front of wedding venue, or even the first dance. When she paints, she is usually set up off to the side at the event, but in an area where guests can watch. And trust us, your guests will watch. In fact, they’ll be in awe, witnessing the magic of color to canvas. It’s a rare and special thing to see visual art in action. And it’s even more extraordinary to have a custom painting made for you.
In or Out of the Fox – Live Poetry
Another fantastic way to incorporate live art at your wedding in a way that is interactive for your guests is hiring a live poet. Local wordsmith Chris Vitiello is more than a poet, he’s a performer. He will show up at your wedding as The Poetry Fox, and sit at a little table with his trusty typewriter. Guests can approach him and share a word of their choice (ie, “love,” “wine,” “party,” “winter”) and he crafts a poem in a couple of minutes. Best of all, it is an amazing wedding favor! Chris is super passionate about this work – when he writes he is in the zone, sometimes working for eight hour stretches. He says this goes by in a flash, and he leaves feeling fully charged up. This is a man truly living his passion, and it’s contagious. Please note, he will perform as a giant fox or well-dressed human.
Not Your Average Photo Booth
Photo booths have become a mainstay at weddings – with great reason. There is nothing more fun than posing with props and getting a take-home snapshot. It’s also a creative way to get a high quality image of your besties, in a dark reception room.
But we cannot stress this enough: all photo booths are NOT equal. Having been in the event industry for a decade, I’ve collected masses of photo strips. A lot of them are very poor quality – many get trashed immediately because they are downright blurry. That’s why we are so passionate about our photo booth recommendation: ZimZoom Photo Booth. This female owned open air photo booth business is as professional as it gets. ZimZoom has an amazing batch of high quality props, and will also customize additional banners and themed items as needed for your event. Your package can include great takeaway souvenirs such as looking glass keychains! But most importantly, the photo quality blows me away every time. With a background in professional photography, owner Meredith Stern has the proper lighting and photography equipment to make the photos look like legit glamor headshots. The team that works the booth is icing on the cake – they are fun and help guide the guests into getting their best shots.
Entertainment, at its core, is about creating memories. And people remember unique experiences. What do you want people to remember about your wedding?
