No. 1: The Cotton Room
Located in the historic Golden Belt District of Downtown Durham, The Cotton Room is an elegant, unique, and all-inclusive warehouse wedding and event venue. The Cotton Room is a part of a part of a historic cotton factory that created the drawstring bags for the tobacco being harvested a few minutes down the road at the American Tobacco District. Featuring beautiful, exposed brick, floor-to-ceiling windows, timeless architecture, and all-inclusive services. The Cotton Room was the original warehouse wedding venue in Durham NC, and it’s easy to see why it’s still one of the best venues North Carolina has to offer! Be sure to check out their new venue addition Belt Line Station. Once an old train depot, today Belt Line Station is a beautiful indoor-outdoor event space with unique character and soul.
No. 2: Forest Hall at Chatham Mills
Located in a restored mill in the heart of Chatham County, Forest Hall at Chatham Mills provides the perfect combination of shabby-chic vibes and elegance, mixed with a welcoming homey, feeling. The exposed brick walls, huge windows, warm wooden floors and fairy lights make it the perfect spot to tie the knot.
Forest Hall at Chatham Mills venue is versatile — they really can do it all! No. 3: Raleigh Union Station
You may be thinking, “wait…a train station? An event space?” But hear us out when we tell you that this is THE new Raleigh wedding spot! With its soaring ceilings, open spaces and cutting-edge design, Raleigh Union Station makes a gorgeous wedding venue. RUS’s main building serves as an Amtrak train station on one side and The Grand Hall event venue on the opposite side. The location’s large outdoor Civic Plaza is the perfect wide-open space for your cocktail hour or any other event.
Located in the vibrant Warehouse District of Downtown Raleigh, RUS is a beautiful and unique event space. The RUS Terrace, with beautiful city views, can be decorated to your liking to create a memorable ceremony. Then, gather your guests for a lively reception where everyone can dance the night away in the wide-open space of The Grand Hall. The modern, lofty design of Raleigh Union Station will delight your guests. The space can accommodate a variety of layouts and up to 700 guests in the Grand Hall.
No. 4: The Dock
Nestled in the historic Seaboard Railroad Station in downtown Raleigh, The Dock is an authentic venue to host weddings and special events. The Dock was built in the early 1900’s as the original Railway Express operation in Raleigh, NC. This beautiful building features original brick walls, wood timber beams and is surrounded by historic charm in a neighborhood next to William Peace University.
The Dock is an elegant location hosting countless events. Plan your next pop up shop, wedding, networking night, poetry reading, or business training here! The natural beauty of the space makes it a stunning, unique spot for any event you can dream up!
No. 5: Market Hall
Market Hall is a historic multi-use space located in the center of City Market in downtown Raleigh. This unique and beautiful building has undergone several renovations and reinventions over the last 100 years, and celebrated its Centennial in October 2014. Say your wedding vows on the cobblestone streets, or transform the warehouse venue into a romantic ceremony site with draping and lights. The white walls at Market Hall lend themselves to any wedding look from funky to elegant.
No. 6: The Cookery
Born of a membership kitchen for food entrepreneurs in the historic Durham Food Co-Op building, The Cookery is now one of the most sought-after warehouse wedding venues in Durham. Beautiful exposed brick walls are complemented beautifully with its signature metalwork salvaged from Durham landmarks (you’ll notice similar looks at Dashi and Ponysaurus Brewing Co, other projects by owners Nick Hawthorne-Johnson and wife Rochelle Johnson that also make cool out-of-the-box event venues). A large mezzanine offers guests a bird’s eye view, and an outdoor patio can be tented for extra seating, cocktail hour, or a ceremony. This has been one of our favorite warehouse wedding venues for a long time.
No. 7: The Stockroom at 230
Smack dab in the middle of downtown Raleigh on Fayetteville Street, The Stockroom at 230 is an expansive space that manages to feel romantic and cozy at the same time. Its exposed brick walls are complimented by hardwood floors and high lattice ceilings creating an open, relaxed vibe. An elevated platform at the front of the warehouse wedding venue is the perfect place for cocktail hour, cake cutting, or even live music. Another fun feature is its chalk wall! (And don’t forget to ask about their bridal suite upstairs called The Glass Box). The Stockroom is under the Empire umbrella which operates several favorite Raleigh restaurants like The Pit, Sitti and Gravy. Brides who book here can use Empire Catering at a special rate, or bring in their caterer of choice.
No. 8: Melrose Knitting Mill
Another new downtown Raleigh venue can be found in a restored warehouse space above Mulino restaurant. A stunning urban space with tall ceilings, arched windows and an open floor-plan, Melrose Knitting Mill allows brides to create their own wedding fantasy. Unlike many downtown venues, ample, free parking is available onsite. The delightful menu comes from the brand new Mulino kitchen. It’s no surprise that this is one of our favorite warehouse wedding venues.
No. 9: Cross + Main
Formerly The Boondocks, Cross + Main is the most charming venue located in the heart of downtown Youngsville. This building has been it all over the years! From the home to horse drawn carriages, a fire station and an auction house. Now its stunning structural beauty and historical charm is restored to a perfect urban and charming wedding venue and event space!
No. 10: Jiddi Space and Courtyard
You’ve probably eaten at Sitti and Gravy in downtown Raleigh – but did you know that they have an amazing industrial meets warehouse style venue with a large open air courtyard nestled behind them? Jiddi Space and Courtyard might just be Raleigh’s best kept wedding venue secret. Equal parts modern industrial and peaceful urban oasis, the Jiddi Space & Courtyard is truly a hidden gem in downtown Raleigh. Tucked behind our Sitti and Gravy restaurants, this secluded indoor and outdoor venue is perfect for events of all varieties, including wedding ceremonies and receptions, rehearsal dinners, holiday parties and corporate events.
Rocky Mount Mills is the most exciting thing that’s happening in Eastern NC! This campus was developed by Capital Broadcasting Company. They beautifully renovated a historic cotton mill into an area that has business offices, homes, an entertainment center, and amazing wedding spaces. The centerpiece event facility is The Power House at Rocky Mount Mills– a warehouse wedding venue. Explore this amazing new development to find industrial class situated along the Tar River. With 4,000 square feet, this Rocky Mount venue can accommodate weddings for up to 200 people.
No. 12: Whitaker & Atlantic
If you are an Oak City dweller you are probably aware of the hip new restaurant known for all day eats and cocktails, Hummingbird Raleigh. Its industrial vibe is carried through to an incredible warehouse event space adjoining the restaurant. Whitaker & Atlantic is one of the best new wedding venues in Raleigh. This modern event space features a grand room with high ceilings, textured concrete floors, and gold accented fixtures. A spacious three-season porch runs the length of the ground floor. A beautiful handcrafted wooden bar is tucked beneath a staircase that leads to an elegant bridal suite with its own private bathroom. This Raleigh venue includes natural wood and steel, soft grays, and blush and ivory hues. While Whitaker & Atlantic is certainly handsome, it is also perfectly feminine for the modern bride. It’s easy to see why this is one of our favorite warehouse wedding venues.
This hidden gem in Pittsboro NC is just right for those couples looking for a warehouse wedding venues. The Plant at Chatham Beverage District has undergone more than one transformation – from flower farm and aluminum smelting factory to vacant building, and now, a multi-use eco-industrial park – and the 17-acre venue has lots to offer. Imagine, wedding photos beneath the string lights hanging across The Plants main street, or an intimate reception dinner in an art gallery. The small businesses that call The Plant home offer great dining options, like the local seasonal menu at Copeland Springs Farm and Kitchen. And, there’s a dedicated event space in Building 2 complete with stages and lighting. This industrial-chic venue can host up to 300 for an outdoor wedding or 100 inside.
No. 14: The Rickhouse
Located in the Central Park District, the Rickhouse in Durham is located just a few blocks from the center of downtown Durham. Exposed ceilings with wooden beams and copper metal accents give you a beautiful slate to which you can add your wedding decor. Its large balcony overlooks the famed Durham Athletic Park, the original home of the Durham Bulls! If you’re a Durham native who grew up with the Durham Bulls as your childhood team, this is the venue for you.
In addition, the Rickhouse’s indoor space comfortably seats 400. The venue also has a chalk wall and a wall made of tin with eclectic stars embedded into the metalwork. But best of all, one wall of the venue is entirely covered with glass windows that look into a distillery, filled to the brim with gorgeous copper equipment. Instead of a traditional view, you can enjoy the metal accents as the backdrop to your wedding ceremony or cocktail hour.
No. 15: The Distillery
Get excited because soon there will be a new NC warehouse wedding venue! The Distillery is located just 15 minutes away from the heart of Raleigh. The space will be an 8,300-square-foot event hall and will be offering three luxury gathering spaces that can be used for your ceremony and reception. The private Modern Cottage is ideal for starting the day, the White Room can accommodate 300 guests and the outdoor patio is perfect for cocktail hour or smaller ceremonies. Its urban garden is also a beautiful setting for bridal or engagement photos.
The contemporary elegance of this venue is something you won’t be able to pass up. Each room is adorned with gorgeous details like gold metal accents, polished concrete floors and urban light fixtures. When you rent this venue, you will be able to use the beautifully landscaped grounds for 12 hours. Your rental also includes catering, a food prep kitchen, tables and chairs and two custom mobile bars. Anyone who books their upcoming wedding or event at The Distillery will have their every want, need and expectation met.
No. 16: Belt Line Station
Once a historic train depot in Durham, now a beautiful indoor-outdoor wedding venue! There are three distinct spaces at this warehouse venue. First, the train station that features exposed brick walls, plenty of antique charm and even a retractable wall that allows for celebrating in all seasons. Second, a new patio area that lends itself to cocktail hours where you can take advantage of Belt Line Station‘s stocked bar and fantastic serving staff. Finally, Belt Line Station’s indoor area is available as a stand-alone rental. This space includes room for a small ceremony, a dance floor and a stationary bar.
